Performance Food Group (PFG) has entered into an Information Technology (IT) support arrangement with HCL Technologies, Ltd., a leading global IT services provider. This partnership will help mitigate data center risk for the Company's critical business systems, reduce certain of our costs, and allow PFG to accelerate IT projects to meet its business priorities.
As part of the transition, 28 IT professionals will be retained by PFG and 27 additional professionals will be offered positions with HCL to work on Performance Food Group projects. 47 IT positions within Performance Food Group will be eliminated; PFG will offer outplacement services and severance packages for these associates. The transition is expected to take several months. No other job losses are expected in other functional areas due to this support arrangement. PFG will still employ over 500 associates in the Richmond area and 10,000 associates nationwide.
“PFG recognizes that this transition creates difficulty for the affected associates and their families”, said George Holm. “We are committed to working closely with both our associates and our operating companies to ensure a smooth transfer and to assist those impacted by this business decision. At the same time, these IT initiatives will provide long-term strategic benefits to PFG and ultimately to our customers. These initiatives will ensure that PFG will remain competitive in today‟s market while positioning the Company for future growth.”
