  • "In The Spotlight!!"

    La Taqueria Noria
  • The Cortez brothers recently opened their own business, La Taqueria Noria, in Covington, Louisiana. Originally from Torreon Coahuila, the brothers, including Fermine, the eldest, Jesus (wife Maria, and son Gustav), and Flavio, the youngest of the three have been in Louisiana for about 15 years.  All three worked at another well known mexican restaurent for 10 years learning about the restaurant industry. This contributed to their ability to fulfill their dream to open their own family restaurant.
  • They  hope to be one of the first truly authentic Mexican restuarants in the area where they will feature regional favorites, such as Barbacoa and Menudo, as well as many other items, serving much of the Latino and Hispanic cummunity on the Northshore in addition to drawing those interested in trying other cuisines they have perhaps not yet tried.

Having worked with another well known distributor at the other restaurant, the success of being their prime vendor is much sweeter. This success was achieved through trememdous team efforts with Richard Mancini coordiniating the enitre process, his persistence and throughness helped secure the business. By using all available resources and consultative samplings, including for instance bringing in Rudy's Tortilla in for consultation on tortilla applications and conducting cheese samplings. Additionally, the sign in the photo was hand painted by DSM Laura Wilson's sister, this was all part of the trememdous team effort you receive from PFG.
